Kanajar, May 16: The platinum jubilee celebration of Our Lady of Lourdes Church Kanajar was held on the 16th of May, 2013. Bishop of Udupi diocese, Most Rev.Dr. Jerald Isac Lobo along with Vicar General Msgr.Dr.Baptist Menezes arrived at 9.15 a.m. Bishop then unveiled the bust of the founder of Our Lady of Lourdes Church Msgr.William.A.Lewis.

Moodubelle, April 15: The newly constituted Diocese of Udupi opened its account with first priest-Fr. Mahesh D’Souza of Moodubelle when he was ordained by the first Bishop of Udupi, Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo in St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle on Monday, April 15, 2013. The historical day of the Udupi Diocese in general and Moodubelle parish in particular was observed with great solemnity and extremely significant and meaningful ritual of administering the Sacrament of Ordination to Deacon Mahesh D’Souza which the parishioners of Moodubelle had not witnessed since a long time.
Kanajar, April 15: On Sunday 14th of April 2013 a ‘shibhir’ for men was held at Sauharda Bhavan, Kanajar from 9.10 AM to 11.30 AM. Rev. Fr. Dr. John Mendonca, parish priest inaugurated the ‘shibhir’ by lighting the diya and was followed by Mr. Alban Rodrigues, the resource person, Mr. Ignatius D'Souza Vice-President Parish Pastoral Council, Mrs. Cynthia Lobo of Sthree Sanghatan, and Mr. Alphonse Saldanha, member of Parish Finance Committee. There were 102 parish men who listened very carefully to the talk by the resource person.
