Moodubelle: Fr. Mahesh D’Souza of Moodubelle becomes the first ordained priest of Udupi Diocese

Moodubelle, April 15: The newly constituted Diocese of Udupi  opened its account with first priest-Fr. Mahesh D’Souza of Moodubelle when he was  ordained by the first Bishop of Udupi, Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo in St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle on Monday, April 15, 2013. The historical day of the Udupi Diocese in general and Moodubelle parish in particular was observed with great solemnity and  extremely significant and meaningful  ritual of administering the Sacrament of Ordination to Deacon Mahesh D’Souza which the parishioners of Moodubelle had not witnessed since a long time.

7th anniversary of "Nithyananda Sports Club" Celebrated

November 27, 2012: The 7th anniversary of "Nithyananda Sports Club" - "Innadonji Dhina" was celebrated on 25th Nov.2012 at Inna Zilla Panchayat primary school. In the morning as a part of the program  sports were conducted to the people of Inna area . In the evening a beautiful program was staged and it was presided by Mr. Rocky D'Silva the president of Nithyanda sports club Inna.

During the program Rs 50,000 cheque was handed over to  Mr. Vinod. T.V. Channel media person udupi towards Endosulphan victims welfare fund. Rs 20,000 cheque was also given for the same cause by St. Theresa church Mukamar. Rs. 60,000 were  distributed to 9 financially poor families of Inna village by Nithyanda sports club.

Kuwait: United Mangaloreans Donate Rs. 16.08 Lacs for a Cause in Mangalore

(Media Release) Kuwait, Nov 17: United Mangaloreans Kuwait UMK’s dream of helping the underprivileged turned into reality once again for the fourth time with ‘Fun-Filled Evening 2012’, a successful show staged to generate funds for a charitable cause, presented before packed audience at the American International School, Maidan Hawally here on Friday 19th October 2012. The event comprised of melodious songs, foot-tapping dances and the hilarious Konkani drama ‘Ootre Uzvadlem’.

The proceeds, Rs 16,08,108/- (Indian Rupees Sixteen Lacs Eight Thousand One Hundred Eight only) contributed to ‘Little Sisters of the Poor – Home for The Aged’, located at Bajjodi, Nanthoor, Mangalore, Karnataka, India.

Recently, UMK’s  team of Lloyd Pinto, Ronson Saldanha, Philomena Saldanha, Beverly D’Souza,  and Rev. Fr. Vincent Victor Menezes (Parish Priest of Cassia ) visited  ‘Little Sisters of the Poor - Home for the Aged’ and handed over the amount in the form of a cheque to Sr. Josphine and her  team at  ‘Little Sisters of the Poor’.
Sr. Josphine thanked UMK and its generous supporters.

UMK has contributed around Rs 28 Lacs to three needy organizations in India in the past three years, raised during three successful ‘Fun Filled Evening’ shows in 2009, 2010 & 2011.

On behalf of UMK family, leader Agnel Saldanha expressed gratitude to all the generous Sponsors, Donors, Well-wishers, and the audience, who whole-heartedly supported and encouraged UMK for the noble cause.

   

Kuwait: UMK to Present "Fun-filled Evening 2012" with '' “Ootre Uzwadelm…!” for a Cause

United Mangaloreans Kuwait (UMK) is all geared up to host the fourth "Fun Filled Evening 2012", on Friday October 19th at American International School Auditorium, Maidan Hawalli, Kuwait at 5.30 pm.

The objective of the group is to help the underprivileged back home in Mangalore.

This year UMK will present a hilarious Konkani comedy drama “Ootre Uzwadelm…!” ,Written by Pradeep Barboza, Paladka (Dubai) and directed by young-promising director Jackson D’Souza, Miyar along with a variety of lively melodious songs and foot-tapping dances, in aid of Little Sisters of the Poor – Home for the Aged, Bajjodi, Nanthoor, Mangalore.

UMK has thanked all its sponsors, media partners, well-wishers and the audience for their continued overwhelming support for its three shows presented in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Through the generous support and contributions of everyone concerned, the shows were super hit and successful, it said. Its office bearers have sought overwhelming cooperation and support this time too, towards making the proposed event a grand success.
